Move, Mobilice
& Relax

Your body has been asking for this for a while

You know the feeling. You get up in the morning, and it takes a minute for everything to work.

The shoulders are tight, your hips are rigid, you hobble around till you feel warmed up (and that's just from getting out of bed).

Underneath all of that, there's a low background ache that's been there so long you've stopped noticing it.

Maybe you train, and your body isn't recovering like it used to.

Could it be from all the sitting at a desk all week, and you can feel your body slowly seizing up?

Perhaps you just haven't given yourself proper time to move, breathe, and reset in longer than you'd care to admit.

Whatever's brought you here, your body's been carrying it, and it's ready to let some of it go.

Stiff, tight, and running on empty?

Modern life is brutal on the body in a very particular way. It's not that we do too much, it's that we do too little, too repetitively, in too few positions.

We sit, hunched over screens for hours.

We hold tension in the same places day after day, our body adapts to what we ask of it, and if all we ask is to stay folded into a chair, that's the shape it settles into.

Then we wonder why our backs hurt, why our hips don't open, why we feel a decade older than we are.

The good news: the body responds just as quickly when you give it something better to do.

Movement. Mobility. A genuine physical reset. It doesn't take months.

Sometimes it takes a single morning to remember what it feels like to move freely again.

A half-day to move well, cool down, and reset

Move, Mobilice & Relax is exactly what it says.

A guided half-day that takes your body through three phases, each one backed by how the body actually works, not wellness guesswork.

Move — mobility that actually frees you up

We start with movement, because a cold, stiff body doesn't want to be stretched; it wants to be woken up.

Gentle, dynamic mobility work takes your joints through their full range, brings blood and warmth into the tissue, and switches your nervous system on.

This is the sequencing the research backs: dynamic movement first, when the body is cold; deep static stretching later, when it's warm. We follow the body's logic, not a random routine.

Mobilice — the contrast therapy reset

Once the body's moving well, we shift into the contrast work, guided rounds between the heat of the sauna and the cold of the ice barrels.

This is where the real reset happens.

Heat opens you up, cold snaps you awake and floods the system.

Alternating between the two is one of the most effective ways to move blood and the lymphatic system, calm the nervous system, and leave you feeling clear-headed and alive.

Every round is led and supervised, scaled to you, whether it's your first cold plunge or your hundredth.

Relax — cold water, then stillness

Then the lake, if you want it, open water to finish the contrast work properly.

And finally, stillness.

Warm, gentle stretching to bring the body down, followed by a drink, snack and a bit of time to just be, before you head back into the day.

This is the part most people skip in their own lives and miss the most.

We build it in on purpose.

How the session runs

A rough shape of the half-day. Nothing rigid, but this is the flow:

Arrival & grounding

Welcome, a quick run-through, settle in. Coffee, tea, cold drink, toilets. No rush.

Move — nature time & mobility

We start with gentle movement in the surroundings, then into the guided mobility sequence. Tailored to you, with options for every body type and level.

Mobilice — contrast therapy

Guided sauna and ice barrel rounds. Fully supervised. The heart of the session.

Relax — lake & stretch

Optional open water dip, then gentle stretching to close the body down.

Replenish

Regather yourself with a warm drink and time to reconnect before you head off.

Pilot Sessions: August 1st 9 am and August 2nd 5 pm.

Built for anyone whose body is paying the price

This retreat is for you if:

  • You train: run, ride, swim, lift, and your body needs proper recovery, not just rest
  • You sit at a desk all week and can feel yourself stiffening up
  • You're carrying old niggles and tension that never quite clear
  • You want to try contrast therapy properly, guided, rather than guessing on your own
  • You just need a few hours to move, reset, and feel human again
No experience needed. No level of fitness required. Every element scales to the person doing it.

What is contrast therapy and does it actually work?

Contrast therapy means alternating between heat (sauna) and cold (ice barrel or lake) to stimulate blood flow, calm the nervous system, and support the body's natural inflammatory and recovery processes. Research shows genuine benefits for circulation, stress and recovery, though results vary and it's not a magic fix, it's a tool that works best used consistently.

We're upfront about this because you deserve an honest answer, not a sales pitch. What we can tell you: every person who's done a session with us has left saying they felt different — clearer, calmer, more in their body. That's not a clinical claim. It's what happens when you guide people through it properly.

How does cold water and mobility work help with stress and stiffness?

Mobility work loosens tight joints and tissue that build up from sitting, training, or simply not moving enough. Cold water exposure activates the parasympathetic nervous system, the body's natural 'rest and reset' switch, which is why people describe feeling calmer, clearer and more present afterwards.

The two work together well. Move first to warm and open the body properly. Then use the contrast, heat, then cold, to reset the nervous system on top of that. That's the exact order this retreat runs in, because it's the order that makes physiological sense.

Is this retreat worth it if I'm not an athlete or very fit?

Yes. Every part of Move, Mobilise & Relax is designed to scale to the person doing it, whether you train five times a week or haven't moved properly in years. The mobility work has variations for every level, and the contrast therapy is guided and paced to you.

Most of the people who come are not athletes. They're people whose bodies have quietly stiffened up from desk jobs, stress, or just life getting in the way. This is built for exactly that person, not just the already-fit.

What happens during a Move, Mobilice & Relax session?

A guided half-day (9 am–1 pm) at Divers Cove, Surrey: gentle movement and mobility work, followed by supervised contrast therapy (sauna and ice barrels), an optional lake swim, closing stretch work, and food to finish. Everything is led start to finish; you don't need to know what you're doing.

See the full session flow above for the exact structure.

How much does a cold water and mobility retreat cost in Surrey?

“this place is a hidden gem”

The sauna and ice bath experience was phenomenal—invigorating, restorative, and surprisingly addictive. The setup is thoughtfully designed for maximum relaxation and recovery. Alan was a standout: incredibly helpful, engaging, and clearly passionate about what he does. Just one thing… this place is a hidden gem, so let’s keep it between us. 🙂

“I go every weekend”

I found out about this place few weeks ago and honestly I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Alan is a brilliant coach and the benefits I get from the ice bath and sauna are incredible. He motivates you and help you breathe throughout the whole process. I now go every weekend as I play football to help me with my recovery.
